  1. There will be no tiebreaking sets. Seeding for bracket play will be determined by matches won, then sets won% (wins/total sets played), then point%, then coin flip. Working teams: RallyVB is providing an R1. Each playing team is responsible for providing two people (a bookkeeper and 1 other person for lines or R2).
  2. LAS VEGAS — A vicious, intentional knee to the head of a downed Aljamain Sterling cost Petr Yan his bantamweight title on Saturday at Apex on the main card of UFC 259. Sterling was on his knees and as he raised his head, Yan belted him in the face with a right knee that snapped Sterling’s head.
  3. The New York Knicks might get Derrick Rose back for their final game before the All-Star break after all. The Knicks were without the veteran point guard on Tuesday due to the NBA's health and safety protocols as they took a 119-93 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Rose was forced to sit out because of an inconclusive COVID-19 test prior to the game.

Rally will be implementing a modified format that will provide full game play for teams while minimizing folks in the gym and providing time for appropriate sanitation measures.

  • 4-team pool: A pool of 4 will be playing on 2 courts simultaneously. After check-in, a team will warm-up, play three matches in a row and then exit the gym immediately.
  • 3-team pool: You will play 3 sets to 25 or in a pool of three with a cross-over match. In either situation, you will play your matches back-back and then exit the gym immediately.
  • Teams will only warm-up for the first match. There will be no warm-up for the second or third matches of pool play.
There will be no tiebreaking sets. Seeding for bracket play will be determined by matches won, then sets won % (wins/total sets played), then point % , then coin flip

  • Working teams:
RallyVB is providing an R1. Each playing team is responsible for providing two people (a bookkeeper and 1 other person for lines or R2). This could be coaches, parents or even players from another wave. Our region commissioner spoke with USAV and they understand having parents become SRVA certified to accommodate modified formats and during this pandemic is difficult. To that end, USAV has determined that a parent participating in a one-time event role of either calling lines or scoring would not need to be background checked or SafeSport trained.

What this means for Mount Spikemore (and Peachtree Classic for those attending):
    1. Teams DO need to provide a minimum of two people per match (a bookkeeper and 1 other person for lines or R2).
    2. The two people DO NOT need to be SRVA/USAV certified and they can sign a one-time waiver. We will provide the waiver at their court prior to performing their duties if they are not certified.
    3. Only full SRVA/USAV members can/should be listed on roster. If it is a parent/individual that is signing the waiver, they should NOT be listed on the roster.

Using a coach or player from a different wave is also a great way to fill the need. Email us any questions.

We will do our best to spread this work assignments across matches. Please be prepared and talk to your teams ahead of time.

Max 2 Spectators Per Player

Let’s make Mount Spikemore even bigger and better than last year. It will still be a SRVA qualifying event. We have been asked to host additional SRVA events to allow clubs the opportunity to meet the Region requirements to go to Regionals.
