The race remained at Morris Park Racecourse until the May 1905 opening of the new Belmont Park, 430-acre (1.7 km 2) racetrack in Elmont, New York on Long Island, just outside the New York City borough of Queens. Belmont Park, with its big, wide, sweeping turns and long homestretch, is considered one of the fairest racetracks. The Hall of Fame champion Easy Goer graces the cover of the 2005 book, 'Belmont Park: A Century of Champions,' with paintings by Richard Stone Reeves and text by Edward L. The book chronicles seventy racehorses who competed.
